Seattle and the PNW are a kids summer nights dream with long hot days leaving more time for swimming between the docks in cool greenish blue water and ice cream stands on the ready at every turn. With no cell service it's easy to hang back with a well worn Tom Clancy from the nearby town grocer and breath in the brilliant blue skies that lead to huge dark starry nights broken only by flicks of light from a bonfire (*and M80's blasting through the night with it being the 4th of July and all). This trip was a family affair for me. Learning, listening, enjoying how other families gather, slow down and understand each other. A great mellow extravaganza that I will forever be grateful for.
